On completion of the cadet training I was delighted to be posted to Heathrow where I spent 16 very happy years . I was a member of A watch and became Assistant Watch Manager. On a personal note I married John Campbell in 1978 but that was not successful and we separated in 1985. In 1992 , at the time that Heathrow was separating into radar based at West Drayton and aerodrome at Heathrow I decided to make a change and encouraged by Alan Binning (our course manager) I applied to the college as an instructor. I gained promotion to ATCO 1 and became Aerodrome course manager. It was a time of great change at the college and my job was to design a new more current training program. I enjoyed the challenge and had a great team to achieve the task. I did not enjoy working office hours. On a personal note I lived in Sopley a couple of minutes from the Woolpack During the time in Sopley I was able to spend weekends with George and we married in 1994. This led to my resignation from the CAA in March 1995 when I moved to Cawdor, near Inverness, where George and I lived until 2011. I did a couple of years Consultancy for Prestwick and HIAL but realised that you quickly become out of touch so just enjoyed life. In 2011 we decided to make a move South and are now settled in Norfolk making a new life including supporting Norwich City.
